Review of 'The Sidekick Chronicles' by Stacey Rourke

Book Blurb:

Celeste isn't the only member of the Garrett family whose life changed when destiny called. Every sidekick has their tale and in this Gryphon Series short the spotlight is turned on Kendall, Grams and even Gabe. Get an inside look at the hilarious stress that goes along with being a...sidekick.

Sidekicks...ya can't live with 'em and you'd probably die horribly without 'em.

**My thoughts**

I've had this for quite some time and have actually read it a couple of times. It is very short, but it is a novella. It is a compliment to the Gryphon series by Stacey Rourke, that was given to us as a gift to hold us over while we wait for 'Sacrifice' to finally come out. I actually have an eARC of 'Sacrifice' that I am reading right now, which is what reminded me to read and review this book.

It's always fun to get to know the other characters in a series, especially when one in particular is always telling the story. The main series is told in first person by Celeste. We get a glimpse of the others through their words and actions. And of course, the Garrett family is full of sarcasm and sharp wit that will make you snort while you read.

Kendall shares a story about her homecoming dance, that you won't want to miss. It explains some changes in relationship lineups, as well as including a fun demon fight. It also takes up almost half of the book. Gran lets us know how she really feels about Gabe's girlfriend Alaina. Gabe's story probably has the most lasting implications. If you haven't read it, I am not telling you what happens! It's a major game-changer, yet to be expected.

Can you get away with not reading this novella? Yeah, I guess so. The events are glossed over in the beginning of Sacrifice, so that you know what is going on. But why would you want to deny yourself of this treat? The price is right and it is fun.
