'Matt Archer: Blade's Edge' Book Tour Review

Young Adult Paranormal
Title:
Matt Archer: Blade's Edge

Sequel to Matt Archer: Monster Hunter
Author: Kendra C. Highley

Date Published: October 19, 2012

Synopsis:

When Matt Archer was fourteen, he discovered monsters are real. As if that wasn’t enough to go on for a few decades, Matt also found out that he’d been chosen to hunt those monsters–with a sentient, supernatural knife. With disappearances mounting in Afghanistan, it's up to Matt to stop this new threat before it's too late.

**My thoughts**

I love Matt Archer. I reviewed the first book, Matt Archer: Monster Hunter a few months ago for a book tour and liked it a lot. Sequels, particularly second books in a series, often don't quite hold the same magic and appeal as the first one. This book, though, is different. I think I liked it better than the first one!

Matt has a lot going for him at this point. He is a master monster hunter. He has grown up, both physically, mentally, and emotionally. He has a beautiful girlfriend. Despite the imminent war, he is secure in himself and in his destiny.

But things are about to change for him, yet again. His connection with the knife grows even stronger, and isn't necessarily a good thing. His family reveals secrets that are devastating and his relationship with some becomes strained. He also loses many important people.

This book is a roller coaster of a read, with lots of ups and downs and plenty of action. My Kindle was glued to my hands all day as I worked my way through it. I really hope there is a third installment!
