Clockwork Igni (Angelbound) by Christna Bauer
OK, YA urban fantasy fans, this one is for you. Check out an excerpt from Clockwork Igni by Christina Bauer and then download your own copy. Be sure to leave questions and comments as you follow the tour. And best of luck in the giveaway!
Long live the me! As Queen of Antrum, I rule an underground realm of demon hunters who love finding new caves. Hey, it’s boring down here; I’m glad they all have a hobby. Per usual, I try to act interested about their latest discovery, but all I hear is "blah blah blah new cavern blah blah blah Forbidden Tombs blah blah blah massive bronze pyramids blah blah blah creepy ticking sounds." It’s a little odd, but I’m not worried.
My bad.
Suddenly, the Forbidden Tombs burst through the ground in my home realm of Purgatory. Bronze pyramids smash through abandoned buildings and highways, making rush hour a nightmare. Even worse, the metal structures attract tiny lightning bolts called igni, which are my very special supernatural buddies. Within minutes, every last igni gets stolen away.
Now. I’m. Pissed.
Whoever hides inside those pyramids? Time to dust off your mummies and shine up your sarcophagi. Because my husband, Lincoln, and I are breaking in and kicking ass.
Angelbound Origins
In which Myla Lewis kicks ass and takes names. Nuff said.
1. Angelbound
2. Scala
3. Acca
4. Thrax
5. The Dark Lands
6. The Brutal Time
7. Armageddon
8. Quasi Redux
9. Clockwork Igni
10. Lady Reaper
I stand in a small square room. A heavy iron door looms before me. All around, the walls are lined with intricately-entwined gears and springs. Tiny pieces whirl and tick away at high speed. With each click and swipe, a tiny jolt of worry ricochets down my spine. Sweat beads on my palms.
I’m girl enough to admit it. This scene freaks me out.
No question why, either. This isn’t just any metal portal. It’s Pandora’s Door. As in, the girl didn’t keep a box of nasties. Nope. Instead, something awful lurks behind this very entrance. If I pull on the handle, that magical whatchamacallit gets free. Based on what I’ve learned, the mystery something-something could make everything right again. In other words, my igni would return. I’ll move souls once more. The Great Scala is back. How perfect.
Or I could release an unknown scourge that destroys all the after-realms. Definitely not as cool.
A memory appears. I picture Verus giving me a solemn warning: “No matter how tempting the door may appear, you must step back and walk away.”
It’s logical enough advice. Plus, Verus is an oracle angel. In my experience, she’s right most of the time. Perhaps I should give up. Go home. Play with my kid. Smooch my hottie husband. Get a mocha.
That lasts all of five seconds.
Screw it. I’m going in.
I grasp the handle and pull.

Twin Time by Olga and Christopher Werby
Twin Time is a time travel historical fiction urban fantasy by Olga and Christopher Werby. Today you'll have the chance to take a sneak peek into the book, plus some background information from the author. Be sure to let her know what you think! And then follow the tour for more. Best of luck in the giveaway!
Alex and Sasha are twin sisters, physically identical down to their freckles. But the resemblance is only skin deep—Sasha is profoundly autistic, while Alex is not. Sasha can’t communicate and acts bizarrely, and the family revolves around her and her intense needs. Yet the aged, wealthy, and mysterious Aunt Nana seems to have a particular interest in both girls. Offering a helping hand, she encourages the family to move to San Francisco to be near her. And when the young twins discover a tunnel in Nana’s tool shed, it leads them on a journey across the world and back 100 years in time. The tunnel is a pathway to the Firebird Estate, the home of their ancestors, located in rural Russia at the beginning of the twentieth century. Even more remarkable, through the effect that twisting time has on cognition, Sasha is not autistic when she’s at the Firebird Estate. Now, growing up in two strikingly different times and places, the twins must face their separate destinies among the ravages of the incipient Russian Revolution. Can they save their families on both sides of the tunnel? Can they simultaneously stay true to their own hearts, to each other, and to the people they left behind? Each sister must face her own personal challenge—but only together can they discover their own future within their family’s past.
Boris Blackburg was observing Alex carefully, judging her emotional state and her ability to comprehend what he was telling her. She seemed very confused. He wasn’t surprised. This was the strangest assignment he had ever accepted. At first, he thought it was some silly notion of a well-to-do old woman. But as the years passed, he got to know Nadezhda well, and he liked the old woman, eccentricities and all. And as he got to know the Orlov family as well–vicariously, of course—the assignment grew more and more strange and intriguing.
Boris was also well compensated for his work. He was going to ensure Nadezhda’s wishes were followed. Alex Orlov would inherit her great-aunt’s estate and all the accompanying strangeness that came with it. He would make certain of it.
“Where did you get these?” Alex asked.
“Nadezhda, your Aunt Nana, gave these to me about eighteen years ago, shortly after you and Sasha were born.”
“I… I…” Alex seemed to want to say something, but couldn’t get it out. Boris was prepared to give her time, as long as her parents didn’t interfere with his mission by arriving too soon. At least the girl was now of age and the complications of guardianship had gone away–but he needed to complete his assignment before her parents arrived and complicated matters.
“Who’s the woman in this photo?” Alex pointed to a small black and white print of a man and a woman walking on the street. The image was very small, and it was difficult to identify the people, both of whom were wearing hats.
“Who do you think it is?” Boris asked. He knew, of course–Nadezhda had identified most of the photos for him, and there was information written on the back of most.
“I don’t know. But… it looks like… me?” Alex’s voice was small, barely audible.
Boris nodded.
Strange thing happens when you start writing a work of fiction. You begin to dream and see the world where your characters live. You get cravings for the food your characters enjoy. You listen to certain songs over and over and over again because somehow they give you just the right feel for that fictional place. The more you get immersed into your story, the more vivid that world becomes. It’s very similar to reading really. When I read a book that pulls me in body and soul into its narrative, I see the story play out before my eyes as I read it. I think this is why it is so often disappointing when we watch a movie based on a book we really love. We had formed all those images and sounds and even smells of the story and then the movie just doesn’t match out imagination and it’s a let down. Writing a story is similar…just takes a lot longer!
For most of my stories (all of my novels), I’ve created Pinterest mood pages that help reinforce the visual sense of those stories in my mind’s eye. I always encourage my readers to take a look. Because even if they imagine the world I create differently, they might get a kick out seeing what I was thinking about when I wrote my stories. Here’s a link to “Twin Time” visual mood board: https://www.pinterest.com/OlgaWerby/scifi-book-twin-time/
For this story, I’ve also created a little book trailer, using the illustrations from the book (yes, “Twin Time” is a fully illustrated novel because why not?): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHCxRU64hyU

A Chosen Novel Series Sale plus Freebie from authors Jeff Altabef & Erynn Altabef
From Book 1: Wind Catcher
WINNER: 2015 Readers’ Favorite Gold Medal - Young Adult
Coming-of-Age
Lies. Betrayal. Destiny. A choice that changes everything.
My name is Juliet Wildfire Stone, and I am special. I see visions and hear voices, and I have no idea what they mean.
When someone murders medicine men in my sleepy Arizona town, I can’t help but worry my crazy grandfather is involved. He’s a medicine man and more than a just a little eccentric. He likes to tell me stories about the Great Wind Spirit and Coyote, but none of it makes any sense. I thought I knew the truth, but in order to clear his name I dive into his alien world and uncover an ancient secret society formed over two hundred years ago to keep me safe—me! And I can’t help but to start to wonder whether there’s some truth to those old stories my grandfather has been telling me.
I just want to be an average sixteen-year-old girl, but apparently I’ve never been average. Could never be average. I didn’t know it before, but I’m a Chosen, and those voices I’ve been hearing... well, they’re not just “voices.” I’ve started to develop abilities, but they might not be enough. A powerful entity called a Seeker is hunting me and he’s close—really close.
I thought I knew the answers but truth is, I don’t. Betrayed by those I love, I must choose to run or risk everything in order to fulfill my destiny. I hope I make the right choice. Don’t you?
Includes a special sneak preview of the second book in the series, Brink of Dawn.

I need answers only my father can provide. Separated from birth, we’ve
only recently connected. Still, I have no one else to turn to. The
Deltites are hunting me and they’re close now. We’ll fight our final
battle soon. Needing more information, I force him to tell me a story
about the beginning, my beginning. He sheds new light on my mom, on my
grandfather Sicheii, and on how I started down this path. He spins a
tale about love, a recent murder, and mysterious strangers who come to
town looking for a medicine man, my grandfather. My father reveals his
own shadowy past in the story, too, but I’m not worried about who he
used to be. I care only about who he is now, and who I am, and the foe I
face. He made a choice back then, and it led to all of this. Now I give
him a second chance—an opportunity to make things right.

Author CC Bolick on the background behind Fear Justice
Fear Justice
Seventeen-year-old Rena Mason counts the days until she can leave for college. Every night her father drinks himself to sleep, leaving her to care for her younger brother. When her father is kidnapped by terrorists, her dreams of freedom become a nightmare.Stunned that her father has a history with these terrorists, Rena knows she must run or be their next victim. She learns the tough guy at school has a reason to look after her - he's working for a government agency with the same goal as the terrorists: find a woman who disappeared eighteen years ago. Time is running out since only this woman's special gift can save the world from a looming nuclear attack.
Rena can't trust anyone, especially not the stone-cold agent she's falling for. Can they save the world before Rena's feelings trap her in an agent's fight for justice?
Fear Justice contains elements of fantasy, sci-fi, and paranormal, with a clean romance. It's the first book in an exciting new series called The Fear Chronicles.
Tony cleared his throat. “You said your dad was kidnapped?”
“Last night. Coach and my dad were friends. They joined the Army together.” Why was I babbling? Tony didn’t need to know my life story. “I showed up this morning because I thought he might know why these people were after my dad.”
“Did either of them tell you?”
I shook my head and looked at Tony. “The man who beat up Coach Andrews—he said he’d give me a head start before hunting me down.”
Again, Tony glanced in the mirror. “He didn’t happen to say he drives a black Lincoln, did he?”
As I spun in the seat and leaned over the headrest to see, the belt cut into my neck. Behind us, a black car crept closer with every second. Someone in the passenger seat leaned out of the window with a gun. “There’s a man with a gun following us and I’m not freaking out. At least, I don’t think I am.”
“No, you’re cool.”
With a bitter laugh, I turned back around and dropped down on the red vinyl seat. “Cool? When are you going to ask why I’m not afraid?”
Tony hit the brakes and made a turn that left me choking from the belt’s grip. “Right after you ask why I picked you up.”
Background of Fear Justice
Fear Justice worked its way into my head from several directions. First, I pictured this teenage girl who was a whole lot smarter and braver than me. She’d grown up living in a camper on a lake in Florida. Then I dreamed about an argument with a government agent who wore all black, including black gloves, despite the fact sweat rolled down his face with the summer’s heat. He was there to save her, but stubborn Rena Mason would end up saving him instead.
I’d already written a series which included a young agent named Travis Payne. After his dad disappeared at age nine, he was raised by a government agency tasked with protecting the people of Earth from those with special powers (think Men in Black meets X-Men). For years, his personal mission has been to find justice for what happened to his father.
Only one man knows what happened the night Travis’s father disappeared, an agent who retired and now lives in a campground in Florida.
But this wasn’t going to be Travis’s story. He was merely the catalyst. The agent who retired and lives off the grid – he married a woman with a young daughter. Three years ago, his wife died in a horrific car accident, leaving behind Rena and their son Alfie.
Rena is one of my favorite characters. At seventeen, her focus is to earn a scholarship to a college where she can become an aerospace engineer. She can’t help that her father wastes his life drinking and leaves most of Alfie’s care to her. Every A means she’s that much closer to a college dream her dad could never afford.
Although Rena is smart when it comes to school, she’s led a sheltered life when it comes to her dad’s past. After he’s taken hostage by a group of terrorists and her brother disappears, Rena has no idea what to do.
For Rena, I wanted to create a character who literally has no fear. Whether it’s punching out a bully or standing up to the principal to protect a friend who’s been wrongly accused, Rena has a strong sense of right and wrong. However, she soon learns the truth in words her mama once said, ‘not having fear won’t keep you safe.’ She’ll need help to save her dad and brother.
Travis has been sent to protect her, but he’ll get more than he bargained for when they go on the run. Protecting Rena from a group of terrorists will be the least of his worries. Accessing her special power might be the only chance to save everyone he cares about.

Longevity: The Wardens of Time by Caleb Smith with Giveaway
Longevity: The Wardens of Time
Noah Thomas is a scrawny seventh grader who is bullied to the brink in his new town. Friendless, except for sassy tomboy Wendy Sherman, who seems to lend him the confidence he needs to stand up to his oppressors. Upon stumbling into a bookshop one afternoon while on the run from some teenaged tyrants, Noah is hurled into an unexplainable adventure. Noah learns that the bookshop does, in fact, lead to the Akashic Records – a place that holds all spirit lives recorded in tablets of light. With this new found knowledge, Noah begins to grow in wisdom and confidence to face his fears. His biggest challenge comes in the form of five demonic spirits that he accidentally lets loose from a lost tablet. Will Noah succeed with the help of his guardian angel cat he calls Keeper, or will all Hell's henchman prevail?"A spiritual thriller that skillfully celebrates determination and self-discipline - Kirkus Reviews "
Read an excerpt:
Elijah was busy containing the damned and all the energies he could catch, holding them tightly until their essence spontaneously combusted into cosmic dust as the window shattered. The night wind howled angrily. With the wave of his hand, Elijah repaired the window to its normal state, and Enoch found the metal sleeve to lock this lost Akashic tablet, sliding both book and key into his deep pocket. Elijah then moved to Noah’s aid, ignoring the result of the mayhem that had occurred in this room. He cradled Noah’s head and lifted his torso. Noah awakened to the sight of the two pillars of heaven towering over him and shining light into his peepers. He was not as shocked as he should have been. He quickly remembered what he had done, and then Elijah set him on his feet to stand. He wished he was more surprised to see them, but he knew full well the reason for their visit.

Queen of Iron and BloodMackenzie Scott is trapped in another realm, but that’s the least of her problems. Magic runs through her veins, and even now she can feel herself changing. She’s managed to help her brother, but in exchange, she’s turning into one of them. Worse, Mackenzie’s not just a monster. She’s their queen.
Hunter had one job: open the gateway between worlds to keep his realm alive. He hadn’t counted on betrayal. He hadn’t counted on being saved by a human girl. And he’d never guessed he couldn’t trust his own king. Now he’s trapped in a world to which he can never truly belong.
Separated by realms, Mackenzie and Hunter must save the other’s world. But the divide isn’t the only thing working against them. Beasts and men fight a dangerous battle that pits Hunter and Mackenzie against those they’re trying to protect.
And the clock is ticking.
Weeks after the original invasion, after the Breach and all that followed, Hannah had been in one of the trucks sent to ground zero. She had known the other soldiers for only a matter of days, but they were not easy days. She and a seventeen-year-old redhead named Riley had become close. She’d relied on him, she realized later, in a way she’d never meant to. And when Riley had told her what happened, when it had turned out he needed her, Hannah could not keep herself from promising she would help. She didn’t think she regretted it, but it was hard to be sure.
She’d followed Riley across the storm-beaten land, home after home destroyed to the point they were no more than lumber strewn over pads of concrete, and into the one house that had weathered the Breach. It stood, albeit marked by the event and missing half a roof over the upstairs bedrooms, and they’d walked in to search for Riley’s sister Mackenzie. They’d found her. With a creature.
Hunter, she’d called him, as if he were merely a man. And he did look more like a man than a beast—he’d no wings or horns like the others who had attacked. He’d been dressed in jeans and tee shirt, not capes and furs and war paint. But Hannah had seen the marks glowing through his skin. She’d felt the energy radiating from him.
Hannah had shot him.
King of Ash and BoneWhen flying monsters break through the veil into her world, Mackenzie Scott has nothing left to lose. Her brother has been taken, her future has vanished, and all that remains is a desperate need for revenge. After discovering the breach the creatures used as a gateway, Mackenzie devises a plan to stop them, whatever the cost.
When she finds an injured stranger in the street, he just might be the key she needs to succeed. What Mackenzie doesn't know is that this stranger isn't the helpless boy he appears to be. He's one of the monsters. And he's got plans of his own.
Thrown into a dying city in another realm, Mackenzie is powerless to get back. With the gateway closing, time is not on her side. But the stranger is, and if they can escape execution, this girl and her monster might be able to save both their worlds.

Yet, everything changes once Mr. Malachi gave Jahlil a necklace that he didn’t even want.
After that, everything was not the same. In fact, Jahlil began to realize that there was much more to who he was. There was much more to who Mr. Malachi was. There was much more to his existence. The lid of limitations was lifted from Jahlil’s life.
