Welcome to the virtual book tour for Guardians, Inc: The Cypher by Julian Rosado-Machain. I let him take over the blog today, to tell us more about his office space. What does your work space look like?
What
Does Your Office Look Like
I
am sorry to say that my office is a mess... at least to the untrained
eye, there's old papers sitting atop clips that are holding invoices
for services I requested a month ago. A black pen with blue ink is
exactly behind the right computer speaker and an orange pen with
black ink is in the holder beside my wife's picture.
Bobba
Fett dangles his head from the right edge of the monitor, he's the
man against the man, the revolutionary I keep close at hand when I
get chastised by the boss. A little flick on his forehead and Bobba
Fett lets the boss man know who's the meanest, baddest bounty hunter
in the galaxy. He does what I can't do with a suave cadence of the
head, "Yeah... whatever" he seems to say.
I
don't really open the first drawer since I saw a little spider web
there...It was one of those semi microscopic, teeny, weenie
translucent spiders that appear once in a while in the strangest of
places. I'm not scared by it. I just forgot what's inside the drawer
in the first place, so why open it and brave a possible spider horde?
Push
pins litter the second drawer, their points glittering each time I
open it to get a wrench or a screwdriver, they are both menacing and
comforting and they have given me the pleasure(twice) to prick the
palm of a co-worker that tried to find something in my second drawer
that only should be used by yours truly.
The
third drawer hold assorted tools and consumables for those tools.
From staples, to a (gasp) pre iphone calculator. It used to contain
rubber bands too, but they became blaster shots for my finger-gun
against Bobba Fett. He won by default because I ran out of ammo.
I
am not a hoarder, or a disorganized person either. I know where
everything is. If you ask me for the thermocoupler that the low boy
in the kitchen needs to keep the pilot turned on, I will (with my
eyes closed, mind you) extend my hand and open the fourth drawer on
the left and find... a rubber band!
The
war is not lost!
Long
live the fighters!
